Updated marks for term 3:
Using iMovie, you will be putting together a slideshow featuring your best 3 projects from this past school year.
Step 1: Gather all the work that you have done this year. You should have already done this as part of your website portfolio assignment. Find out if you need to take pictures of your hand-drawn work with a camera, or take screenshots of assignments, or final rendered animation.
To take a screenshot on the iMacs, use Shift-Command-4, follow the instructions here:
Step 2: Create a new project in iMovie and add all of your items to the timeline. Add transition title pages that accurately describe each project in a few words. Your final movie should be a minimum of 30 secs.
Step 3: Add background music to your project
When done, render your final video and hand it to the server as usual.
This assignment will be worth 20% of your term 3 mark.
On Thursday’s class, I will assign your final Website project. In the meantime, for those who are keenly interested in a particular field of study that we’ve worked on this year, I’d like to open it up as a bonus project for you to work on for the rest of the year.
Perhaps you would like to create another game or animation in Scratch. Or perhaps you have a great idea for a photoshop project. Or maybe you want more time to work on the perfect song in Garageband. Or maybe you have an even better idea for a Flash animation that you would like to create.
If you can’t think of anything original, you can redo an earlier assignment. Go through this website and think of an assignment that you didn’t do so well on earlier in the year, but you feel that with more time, you could improve your mark.
When you come up with an idea, please come up and tell me, or email me if you prefer, so that I know that you are working on it.
Here are the marks for the final animation scene. There are several of you who haven’t handed in yet. Overall, I was very impressed by the creativity and visual appeal by the projects submitted. I really hope many of you have chosen to take Visual Arts – Animation next year, where you can hone your drawing and animation skills, and have a lot of fun along the way.
Please see your mark so far for Term 2, as you can see, many of who are missing the slideshow:
